Every Minute of Every Day

The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier takes months to perfect but only minutes to perform. The routine is characterized by practiced precision performed by sentinels who are members of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment - The Old Guard. An Army sentinel has been on duty in front of the Tomb every minute of every day since 1937. (U.S. Army Video by Sgt. Ethan Scofield)

BSC Reel

28 July 2023 - Experts both in and out of ceremonial uniforms. Old Guard Soldiers swapped their ceremonial rifles for combat rifles to compete in the Military District of Washington Best Squad Competition last week. During testing, BSC candidates completed weapons, patrol, medical lanes, land navigation, a 12-mile ruck, a reaction course, and ACFT, all over a grueling 4-days span. (U.S. Army by Sgt. Ethan Scofield)
